Fazlur Rahman Khan
Fazlur Rahman Khan was born in the Faridpur district of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was responsible for inventing tubular designs for high-rise buildings, a concept inspired by the bamboo that grew around his hometown. He rose to prominence as the architect of Chicago's 100-story John Hancock Center and 108-story Sears (Willis) Tower, the world's tallest skyscraper at the time.
