Early life
Pichai was born in 1972, July 12. His full name is Pichai Sundararajan. Pichai had a hindu upbringing. Growing up, he and his family (parents and a brother) lived in a two-room apartment.
Pichai's mother was a stenographer until she had her sons.
His father was an electrical engineer for the British conglomerate GEC and managed a factory that made electrical components.
His father introduced him to technology, by sharing stories and challenges he faced during his work day.
Growing up, Pichai had neither a television nor did his family own a car. They would either all hop on to their blue Lambretta scooter or use public transport.
Pichai was the captain of his school cricket team and under him, the crew won several competitions in the region.
Education
Pichai completed schooling in Jawahar Vidyalaya, a Central Board of Secondary Education school in Ashok Nagar, Chennai and completed the Class XII from Vana Vani school at IIT Madras.
He earned his degree from IIT Kharagpur in metallurgical engineering and is a distinguished alumnus from that institution.
In 1993, Pichai received a scholarship to study in Stanford University and came to the U.S. He received an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering in 1995.
In 2002, Pichai earned a MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (No. 1 in the United States according to the 2020 U.S. News & World Report ranking)

When he first joined, Pichair led the product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google's client software products, including Google Chrome and Chrome OS, as well as being largely responsible for Google Drive
He went on to oversee the development of other applications such as Gmail and Google Maps
On November 19, 2009, Pichai gave a demonstration of Chrome OS; the Chromebook was released for trial and testing in 2011, and released to the public in 2012.
On May 20, 2010, he announced the open-sourcing of the new video codec VP8 by Google and introduced the new video format, WebM

Sundar Pichai is fond of cricket since his childhood. He was a captain of his school cricket team. When asked in one of the interviews, he said Cricket is his second career choice.
Pichai grew up in a middle-class family and lived a very "modest" living when he was growing up. Pichai’s father spent more than his year’s salary to get him a flight to the US to study in Standford.
Pichai loves to watch movies and keep tweeting about the latest movies and leading actors and actresses.
Pichai got married to one of his classmates named Anjali Pichai. They used to study together at IIT Kharagpur. He now stays in Los altos with his wife and their children Kavya and Kiran.He is a vegetarian and a non smoker .
