Alex Bond
As we continue to celebrate Pride month, today we want to showcase Alex Bond, a conservation biologist who studies marine environments and seabirds. He has published extensively on the effects of ocean plastic on seabirds and uses lots of different techniques to pursue his research interests.
Alex completed all three of his academic degrees in Canada, at Mount Allison University (B.Sc.), University of New Brunswick (MSc), and Memorial University of Newfoundland (PhD). He is now the Senior Curator in Charge of Birds at The Natural History Museum in the UK.
Aside from his academic work, Alex writes and speaks about experiences of LGBTQ2+ folks in STEM. He is passionate about promoting diversity in science and creating welcoming and safe spaces for researchers to learn and teach one another.
